From DREAMer to on-air reporter & Author

Daniela moved to the United States at a young age with her parents and four siblings. In high school, she found out she was undocumented.

With all odds against her, she graduated college and became part of the coveted NBC Page Program in New York City, eventually becoming a booking producer and eventually a on-air reporter for MSNBC’s Morning Joe as a DACA recipient. She went from an undocumented immigrant to the best-selling author of “Earn It! Know Your Value and Grow Your Career, in your 20s and Beyond” alongside Mika Brzezinski.

In “Earn It”, Mika and Daniela offer concrete advice on how to own your presence and voice, exert confidence and self-assurance without being mistaken for “arrogant” or “entitled,” read your audience, and discover how to apply that information to your advantage. They include valuable strategies on how to interview effectively, negotiate a raise, determine your purpose, advocate for more responsibility, and move forward lucratively. In 2022, Daniela authored “The Other - How to Own Your Power at Work as a Woman of Color,” where she shared her own story and those of other women as they’ve moved up their careers feeling like ‘the other’ while overcoming barriers and ultimately reaching career success while finding power in their dualities and mixed identities.

Daniela has traveled the country speaking to women and men of all ages and walks of life on how she overcame her struggles, found her voice, learned to advocate for herself effectively and juggled her mental health as an undocumented immigrant.

Daniela has moderated, served as a panelist and featured speaker on a number of different issues related to women’s empowerment. Her most recent events include: Chief, Forbes 30 Under 30 Summit, Bloomberg, Color Comm, The Female Quotient, The Wing, New York Women in Media, Miami University, George Mason University, Telemundo. She has appeared on the TODAY Show, Morning Joe, The View, MSNBC, Cheddar, and more.
